Connect Stripe to Tuaneka

A step-by-step guide to connecting an eligible Stripe account for card checkout and payment confirmation.

Connect your own eligible Stripe account to offer secure card checkout through your Tuaneka shop and supported invoice payment flows. You need an active seller trial, Pro or Pro Plus access and a Stripe account that can accept live payments in your business country.

Before you start

  • Select the correct business in Tuaneka. Payment connections belong to the active business.
  • Complete any identity, business and payout checks required in your Stripe dashboard.
  • Use live API keys for a live shop. Test keys only create test payments.

Connect Stripe

  1. Sign in to Stripe and open Developers > API keys.
  2. In Tuaneka, open Banking & Connections > Payment gateways > Stripe, or go to /payment-gateway/stripe-connect while signed in.
  3. Copy the Stripe Publishable key into the publishable-key field in Tuaneka.
  4. Reveal and copy the Stripe Secret key into the secret-key field. Never send this key by email, chat or WhatsApp.
  5. Save the connection in Tuaneka.

Tuaneka validates the credentials and registers the required Stripe webhook automatically. The webhook listens for successful checkout and invoice-payment events as well as failed invoice payments. You do not need to paste a webhook secret into the Tuaneka form.

Check the connection

After Stripe shows as connected, publish a low-value test product or prepare a test invoice and complete checkout. Tuaneka verifies the provider response before marking the order or invoice paid. Payment callbacks are processed idempotently so a repeated provider event does not create a second payment.

Change or disconnect Stripe

To rotate keys, enter the replacement publishable and secret keys and save again. Stored secret keys are encrypted and are never shown back in full. Disabling Stripe stops new Stripe checkouts but keeps historical orders and payment references readable.

If connection fails, check that the publishable and secret keys belong to the same Stripe mode and account, that the Stripe account is eligible for live payments, and that no network or account restriction blocks webhook creation. Unexpected charges, payout differences or a payment that remains unverified should be escalated with the Tuaneka order number and Stripe payment reference. Never include card details or a secret key.
